About Us
History and Background
Attamit School was opened on April 20, 1984 under the name of Attamit Kindergarten School -- with Miss Usanee Singalavanija as the founder and licensee, Miss Ratana Wasinrapee as the Manager, and Mrs. Kajornsri Rerkchamnong as the director.
In 1987, the school began with the Elementary Level and changed its name to Attamit School. Then in 1998, the Secondary Level was established. The current enrollment population is 1,500.
Attamit School is a friendly school located on a quiet, leafy lane on Phaholyothin Soi 37 in the Bangkok district of Jatujak. It is situated roughly halfway between Central Ladprao department store and Kasetsart University, less than 10 minutes walk from the well known Major Cineplex (IMAX).
The school now has an enrollment of over 1,300 students between the ages of 3 and 16. Typically there are 25-35 students in each class and students study 7 periods per day. Each period lasts 50 minutes. Under the current ESL program, students have at least 8 contact hours per week with foreign teachers.
Our English department consists of approximately 16 foreign teachers from England, Scotland, Australia, the United States and the Philippines. In addition English grammar, writing and translation is taught by Thai teachers. Furthermore, we have Thai classroom teachers to provide assistance during primary classes taught by foreign teachers.
